[English below].

Dat was een boel informatie. Samengevat:

  • Fix your online presentation: YOUR WEBSITE - both for your band and music. Not tomorrow but today.
  • Your site is your base of operations; the newest and the best should be found here.
  • Advertise yourself on other sites and communities as well. Look at these as 'scouting units'.
  • Don't waste your time trying to impress classic rock enthousiasts of your trance dj skills, but approach people who are genuinely interested in you and your music.
  • Don't go for a long shot and aim for a holy grail (that huge record deal or this grand festival). Instead go for aimed shots and focus on groups close to you. Be relevant and build it up from there. Look for relevant partners when neccissary.
  • Don't play a waiting game on the web, but continually look for kidred spirits in an active way. Get them in touch with your music and reward fans with new tunes, images and news in exchange for their emailadresses. Focus on your 3-4 best tracks. No fragments.
  • Network! Give your fans all the tools they need to share their enthousiasm with others!
  • Spend at least as much time in keeping your existing fans interested that you do at finding new ones.
  • Spoil your fans so that, in their enthousiasm they can convince others. There are lots of them and they can be more pesuasive than you can be.
  • Be part of the discussion. Internet is communication, no one way street.
  • Don't forget about the real word. Make sure your cd's are at the local record store in the place you're performing and sign them after your show. Offer instore gigs and provide posters. Also for instance in cafe's, highschools and universities. Every ticket is a chance for a new fan.
  • Share your results and convince bookers, other bands, venues, shopkeepers and festivals with your online activities, fans and concrete similarites with other successful bands and artists.
And never forget the most important thing: devistatingly good songs and impressive live shows that have your fans talking for days! Preferably on your site.
